As exports of U.S. poultry and eggs continue to grow, the positive economic impact extends beyond just the poultry industry. In fact, soybean and corn farmers are among the primary beneficiaries of this increase in exports.
It’s quite fascinating to note that the poultry industry consumes one out of every six bushels of soybeans produced in the United States. Poultry feed alone accounts for more than half of the total soybean usage in the country.
Over the past few years, USAPEEC has formed strategic alliances with soybean and grain organizations, recognizing the crucial role played by the poultry industry in ensuring the well-being and prosperity of the soybean and corn sectors in the United Nations. It’s worth mentioning that corn is also essential for the health and productivity of the poultry industry, as more than 12 per cent of all U.S. corn is used for poultry feed.
Several commodity and farmer groups have joined USAPEEC, including the American Egg Board, United Egg Producers, and the National Corn Growers Association.
